Small business owners and self-employed entrepreneurs are discovering that South Texas is a wonderful place to do business as the region offers a variety of franchise opportunities in segments such as fast-food chains, mid-level restaurant chains, big box stores, hotels, real estate, self-storage facilities, and retail stores. The other industrial and business segments where opportunities are in plenty include oil and gas extraction, leather and allied product manufacturing, pipeline transportation, support activities for mining and transport, fishing, hunting and trapping, and ambulatory healthcare services, among others. Hence, entrepreneurs are flocking to the area in significant numbers. The region has witnessed steady population growth, which may double by 2045.
