Singapore government announces rental relief package for SME tenants

To help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) cope with the adverse impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Singapore government’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) has announced a relief package under the Rental Support Scheme. While qualifying SME tenants occupying government-owned commercial properties will receive a 4-week rental waiver between July 22 and August 18, 2021, those SMEs which operate from private commercial properties will get a 2-week rental relief cash payout. The MOF had granted similar support to qualifying SME tenants for rent payments during phase two between May 16 and June 13.
