After Thailand legalized cannabis on a national scale this year, thousands of hashish, gummies, weed shops, and Cannabis-related small businesses have sprung up all over the country. Cannabis-infused beverages and beauty products have also become available in local grocery stores. Now, cannabis seems to have the potential to emerge as Thailand’s new key economic crop, as it can generate substantial income for small businesses and growers. Revealing this, Thanavath Phonvichai, President of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), said a study done by UTCC indicates that Thailand’s cannabis market is likely to grow by about 15% per year from 2023 to 2025.
