Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous and fourth-largest state, disbursed loans amounting to Rs 43.14 billion to 506,995 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) on January 6, under its Online Swarozgar Sangam program. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also distributed Unnat tool kits to 75,000 artisans trained under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana and to another 10,000 craftspersons under the One District-One Product (ODOP) scheme. Meanwhile, during the past five years, the Uttar Pradesh government has provided loans to 9.5 million units, after which 30 million youth got directly employed in these units.
